Making this Possible

The LACHSA Foundation was founded in 1984, making 2024 our 40th Anniversary year. LACHSA was established a year later, in 1985, making 2025 its 40th anniversary year. Over the next two school years, we are celebrating the impact of the first 40 years and advancing the next 40 years of this incredible, fully-public arts education experience.

Our founding visionaries had long term, sustainable goals and we are grateful to philanthropic institutions, like the Doris Duke Foundation, the Surdna Foundation, and the Ahmanson Foundation, who had the foresight back in 1984 to establish endowments for LACHSA that continue to support the exemplary arts education at LACHSA to this day. If your philanthropic Foundation would like to contribute to these endowments, please contact our Executive Director, Trena Pitchford, at tpitchford at lachsafoundation dot org.

Every school year, the LACHSA Foundation is committed to the success of LACHSA, in partnership with the LA County Department of Education or LACOE. Thanks to the generous donors below, and all of the supporters of the school, donations help further the legacy of LACHSA’s students who were born to create and destined to change the world.
