Heather Risinger

President, LACHSA Parent Association
LACHSA Parent

Heather has been a lover of all things art for as long as she can remember. A Southern California native, she spent her childhood in a ballet studio during the day and playing her cello at night. After some success as a dancer, she switched gears and received a BFA in Acting and Directing at CSU Long Beach.

Her college theatre comrades started the Elephant Theatre Company, her theatrical home for many years. Currently, she coaches young professional actors and biannually coordinates agents, managers, and casting directors for the International Presentation of Performers.

A mother of four, (Maya 28 and Samuel 26, both employed in live entertainment positions), she is the parent of LACHSA Junior Zakary Risinger 16 (Theatre, ‘27) and Liam 12, a 7th grader at Larchmont Charter School. Zakary and Liam have both been working actors since their infancies and Heather has guided them through their careers thus far.

After 25 years of helping many schools achieve their goals, Heather is always ready to stand up and fight to make public arts education available to all. She has volunteered at LACHSA for two years as the Theatre parent lead for the class of ‘27, served on the Parent Association Leadership as the Musical Theatre parent rep, and is the newly elected president of the Parent Association. LACHSA is a home we hope to have and serve for many years to come. As a family, we truly believe in the mission of the LACHSA Foundation and all who serve it.
