The LACHSA Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that was founded in 1984 with the sole focus of supporting the LA County High School for the Arts.
For more than 40 years, the Foundation has provided critical funding that bridges the gap between public education funding and the annual needs of the exemplary instruction and artistry at LACHSA. Learn more about the LACHSA Foundation.
The large majority of support for the arts programs is raised by the LACHSA Foundation, with a small portion of funds for specialized arts curricula coming from state funding.
Because of grants to our endowment and operating funds, nearly 100% of fundraising done by the Foundation goes directly to curriculum, facilities, equipment, and artist salaries at the school.

LACHSA is a tuition-free public high school. We do encourage parents and supporters to help support the school through donations, but there is no tuition or expectation to give, just as at any other public high school.
LACHSA is not an LAUSD-affiliated school. It is administered directly by LACOE. Our students come from many school districts throughout LA County, including LAUSD
LACHSA serves up to 600 talented students, who were born to create, from every corner of Los Angeles County.
No, LACHSA is not a charter school. It is a non-charter public high school, administered by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE).
