Making This Possible

Donate to Support Our Mission Today
The LACHSA Foundation was founded in 1984, making 2024 our 40th Anniversary year. LACHSA opened its high school doors to student artists a year later, in September of 1985, making 2025 – 2026 its 40th anniversary year. For the next two school years, we are celebrating the impact of the first 40 years and advancing the next 40 years of this incredible, fully-public specialized arts high school.

We believe LACHSA is worth every investment we make and in this 40th Anniversary celebration, we’ve become even bolder. Every school year, the LACHSA Foundation is committed to the success of LACHSA, in partnership with the LA County Department of Education or LACOE. The LACHSA Foundation offers many philanthropic opportunities to raise critical funding for LACHSA and invest in its student artists. We invite everyone to give what they can or to make introductions so that LACHSA can thrive.

Endowments

Our founding visionaries had long term, sustainable goals and we are grateful to the state of California for its investments in LACHSA as well as philanthropic institutions, like the Doris Duke Foundation, the Surdna Foundation, and the Ahmanson Foundation. Many of these nationally recognized Foundations helped to establish endowments that continue to support the exemplary arts education at LACHSA to this day. If your philanthropic Foundation would like to contribute to these endowments, please contact our Executive Director, Trena Pitchford, at tpitchford at lachsafoundation dot org.

Fundraising Strategies

Beyond the investment strategies, the Foundation raises critical funding every school year through a variety of ways 365 days a year. The Foundation manages the box office at LACHSA, meaning every ticket that is ordered for a school performance or exhibition benefits LACHSA. We also manage the brand and LACHSA’s merchandise, meaning every t-shirt or coffee cup that is ordered benefits the school, too. Foundation staff writes grants to philanthropic foundations and manages corporate gifts from companies who believe in the next generation of artists and cultural bearers. We have a growing group of monthly donors, and our annual Ovation Guild members who sustain our work in sharing LACHSA’s story and advancing its exemplary arts curriculum and instruction.

Thank You

Every donation, in-kind gift, volunteer hour or introduction helps the Foundation to fulfill its mission. The Foundation is grateful to all of the supporters of LACHSA, including the generous donors below, who help further the legacy of LACHSA’s students who were born to create and destined to change the world.
