Our 2-year fundraising campaign celebrates the impact of the first forty years at LACHSA and sets a goal to advance the next 40 years of this incredible, public high school for the arts.
You are invited to help guarantee the next 40 years of LACHSA by donating, volunteering, sharing your LACHSA story or by helping us grow our LACHSA family!
Your generosity over the many years of LACHSA’s legacy has built a creative home, a place where every public-school student artist who walks through the doors belongs. Today’s student artists are bright, innovative, and resilient. They work in new collaborative ways across arts disciplines to expand their craft and become the next generation of creative leaders and artistic geniuses. They are born to create.
This isn’t your typical annual fundraising campaign. It’s a movement to guarantee the next 40 years of LACHSA’s legacy.
“Everyone is invited. This is an ‘all hands on’ deck moment to lift LACHSA’s story to the national level and share why this public high school is worthy of every investment. Lean in, join us at the table, and let’s see what we can create together!”

Funding LACHSA’s Needs Today:
Every school year, the LACHSA Foundation has a fundraising goal to invest in today’s 550+ student artists. From those who travel for hours every school day to attend LACHSA, to the development of their art with state-of-the-art equipment, performances, concerts, and exhibitions that allow them to share how their creative passion benefits humanity.
We know California state funding only provides 50% of LACHSA’s budget for its conservatory arts curriculum and instruction in five arts departments at this specialized public high school. Our mission is to fund the rest, every school year.
The entertainment industry contraction, the LA Wildfires, donor fatigue, and the volatility of federal funding for public education has all of us worried. It is even more important to raise significant funding at $4,000 per student artist to ensure LACHSA thrives in this very challenging moment in time. $4,000 per 550 student artists equals an annual fundraising goal of $2.2 million to invest in LACHSA.
Historically, the Foundation has invested between $700,000 and $1.5 million every school year. Through our multi-level fundraising strategies and with your help, we are stretching our goal in this 40th Anniversary campaign. Will you help by making a donation today?
If you cannot donate $4,000 per student artist, will you help us raise that amount? How can we, as the LACHSA Family, work collaboratively to build on LACHSA’s success? Can we become as creative and innovative as the student artists that walkthrough LACHSA’s hallways every day?
In this current 2025 2026 school year, we are calling on everyone to place LACHSA at the top of the list. To donate, to help create new partnerships, to volunteer, and to help us host a benefit arts and music festival, the LACHSApalooza, at the Greek Theatre on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
Funding LACHSA’s Needs Tomorrow:
LACHSA’s future is bright, and you are invited to invest in its incredible future. Here are just a few of our big visions and big dreams that we are working beyond this 40th Anniversary campaign:
-
- A new home for LACHSA – while the 40 year partnership with CalStateLA has been amazing, LACHSA wants to open its doors to more student artists. As a public school that serves all of LA County, we have a big visions for “LACHSA 2.0,” where LACHSA can bring all of its artists in one building, with state-of-the-art equipment and performing venues that will house its more than 40+ performances, concerts, art exhibitions and film festivals, with an outreach center to ensure LACHSA is open to every elementary or middle school student artist who knows they are born to create.
- A $40 million Endowment – The LACHSA Foundation is seeking angel investors to make their mark on LACHSA’s history and tomorrow’s arts leaders. With one investment or an investment from a pooled fund of philanthropists or private Foundations that equals at least $40 million dollars, the LACHSA Foundation could grow a visionary endowment that will provide sustainability for LACHSA every school year and guarantee its next 40 years. Annual interest generated from this new endowment will invest directly into the incredible arts education of 550+ student artists, with an ROI that is proven by LACHSA’s alumni, who have impacted audiences, communities, and cultural celebrations all across the world. History: Thanks to the “Talented Students in the Arts Initiative,” a collaboration with the Doris Duke Foundation and the Surdna Foundation, a permanent, restricted endowment fund was established in 2001 that has grown to be $3 million today. The interest from this restricted endowed fund is invested every school year in LACHSA’s arts education programming. We are seeking to increase this annual investment, and we have a goal to grow it up to $40 million. If you are an investor at this level or know one, please contact us and let’s have a conversation!
- A new office for the LACHSA Foundation – estimated in January 2027, the LACHSA Foundation will be moving its offices to the new building of the Entertainment Community Fund. It’s called the Hollywood Arts Collective. This sliding-scale affordable housing complex for artists and Western Region offices of the Entertainment Community Fund will create many more opportunities to grow student performances and outreach. The space will be comprised of the Foundation’s office, as well as a multi-purpose studio space for the school to use for gallery space or intimate film screenings. Additionally, shared spaces with our new neighbor, LACE, and the Fund offers a small black box theatre and other convening opportunities. This will create more visibility for LACHSA as space will be prominently facing Hollywood Blvd, a well-trafficked, historic street of the entertainment capital of the world.
